We sat at the table for 15 minutes until a younger girl came by and asked us if it was our first time. I asked if they had room for us to paint and she said yeah, there's a table. We walked in and were not greeted for about 5 minutes until a woman came by and I had to initiate conversation. Guess we should have gone earlier for better service and experience!!! The store closed at 9pm, but we got there at 7:30pm thinking we would be more than finished by the time it closed. Tonight was my husband and I's first experience at Color Me Mine and it wasn't great. All other locations WILL call you when they are ready - Go to one of them. If a client has paid almost $200 for a few little items to take home and enjoy and they have not come in a week to pick them up - how about giving them a call and let them know its ready. I think this location is the worst in Calgary - very unprofessional. The prices for a couple hours of painting is incredibly expensive already but it is exciting to come and get what you have made. NEVER have I been told to " just show up in a week " to pick them up and I was NOT told to do this when I paid and left. The other three times I had gone to a location ( not this one ) they called me within a few days to come and get my creations. When I spoke with the manager on the phone and explained what has happened he blamed me for not coming and picking them up in a week as the receipt states. 10 days later my guests left town to return home and I still did not receive a call from the location telling me my purchases were ready. I had family come to town and decided to take them to this location as it was close by and they had never experienced anything like this. I have been to color me mine locations all around Calgary and have had great experiences to date until I tried this one. Would definitely not recommend this place. When brought to the attention of management, we received excuses and no compensation. This was an expensive, hurried and stressful experience and we had to pay 18.50 for each small ornament and 30 mins worth of actual painting. she never approached an adult to see if we would get another ornament!! When one child broke her ornament, the staff member told her that she should have been more careful because she only gets one, making her cry. the kids really didn't understand what to do so we had to go over everything again to make sure they knew what to do.Īs we were not given access to the party room as expected, the 2 staff members there that day were busy helping other customers in the store, so we had to do all the running to change water, Get more paint and help any of the kids with their needs. There was no interaction, no adjusting her level to recognize these were little kids. The staff member explained what to do to these small kids in a whisper voice as if she were bored and talking to adults. The staff were completely unprepared for our arrival and we had to spend the first 20 mins of our one hour painting session just handing out ornaments and paint, getting water, etc. Most recently, I took a large group of 5 and 6 year olds (14 kids) to paint small ornaments. I've been to this location twice now and been disappointed both times.
